For over 25 years, Henry has been involved as a leader and relationship manager for Plan Sponsors throughout the United States and for Multi-National employers around the world. Henry Henkel joined AEPG in 2016 to focus on Business Development and Market Strategies for the Retirement Plan Solutions Team. Henry joined AEPG to continue his past successes in educating employers on how to build better retirement plans and improve plan participation and education.
Henry has managed Regional and National teams that developed retirement product solutions in the mid/large institutional plan sponsor market. He has found solutions that include defined benefit pension risk transfer for Defined Benefit Plans; guaranteed income programs, stable value, and market value investment options for Defined Contribution plans. Henry believes in developing deep relationships with his clients and is a valued resource for them on numerous topics including plan governance and participant education. Henry is an advocate for helping plan sponsors understand the unique benefits of working with a 3(21) or 3(38) investment fiduciary that provides professionally managed investment portfolios, fiduciary protection and complete fee transparency to retirement plan committees and plan sponsors.
Prior to joining AEPG, Henry was a Director of Business Development for Cafaro Greenleaf. Prior to Cafaro Greenleaf Henry held positions a number of firms with progressive responsibilities including National Director of Asset Management Sales with MetLife, Senior Vice President of Sales at Dreyfus Investment Advisors; Director of Fixed Income Sales at AXIA Investment Management; and Regional Sales Director – The Americas at AEGON Global Pensions. Henry has published articles and spoken at conferences including addressing an international audience of pension plan sponsors, consultants and intermediaries on Global De-risking Issues for the Multi-National Employer, at the prestigious IBIS Academy conference in Madrid, Spain.
Henry earned his Master’s degree in English from New York University. A published author of two collections of original short stories, Henry lives with his wife and four children in New Jersey.
